Brexit Statement

We would like to assure our customers and end-users that in the event of a “no-deal” Brexit Bettison.org Limited remains compliant with relevant data protection legislation with regards to its obligations a data processor.

As part of our service we use Amazon Web Services (AWS) to store and transfer personal data. The majority of our operations are hosted on servers located in Dublin, Ireland. We also use replication to create an additional backup of user uploaded content to Frankfurt, Germany. We also use server locations worldwide for the storage and/or transmission of non-personal data.

By using AWS we enter into a contract with them. The contract contains the Standard Contractual Clauses that provide an appropriate safeguard for international transfers.

The UK government has confirmed that in the event of a “no-deal” Brexit all EEA countries will be considered “adequate” for the purpose of personal data flows and that additional safeguards are not required.

We will continue to review the relevant legislation as events unfold to ensure we remain compliant.
